Peace and Security Bill, 2075

NLPC has reviewed Peace and Security Bill, 2075. The government has registered this Bill at the Parliament Secretariat so as to amend and integrate the existing law in line with the federal governance for maintaining peace and security in the country. This Bill also drew criticism from different quarters. For example, the provincial governments criticized the Bill for assigning greater powers to the Chief District Officers (CDOs) contradicting the concept of federalism.

The Bill has been thoroughly reviewed by NLPC’s expert. The review has provided valuable suggestions that will contribute to informed discussion on the proposed Bill and subsequent reformation.
